(一)几个助动词的用法 Usages of common auxiliary verbs

1.“会”
(1)表示经过学习,掌握了某种技能。例如: It expresses the grasp of a skill through learning. For example:
姐姐会织毛衣。
我们会说汉语。
他不会修理电脑。
弟弟会打网球。
(2) 表示有可能。例如: It expresses possibility. For example:
她会来,你不要着急。
今天不会下雨。

2.“能”
(1)表示具备某种能力。例如: It expresses capability. For example:
我能开汽车。
张老师能教化学。
他能看中文小说。
(2) 表示环境或情理上许可。例如:
It expresses possibility provided by circumstances or reason. For éxample:
圣诞节你能来吗? 能。
他能参加运动会吗? 不能。
星期天不能办这种手续。

3.“可以”
(1) 表示能够。例如:
It expresses the meaning of can” or “be able to”. For example:
锻炼可以增强体质。
我们可以帮助你。
(2) 表示许可。例如:
It expresses permission. For example:
我可以抽烟吗?
现在你们可以走了。

4.“应该”
(1) 表示情理上的需要。例如:
It expresses the meaning of “ought to”. For example:
(天黑了,)我应该走了。
同学们应该积极发言。
你们应该表演节目。
(2)“应该”的否定形式是“不应该”或“不该”。例如:
不应该 and 不该 are the negative forms of 应该. For example:
你不(应)该去。
我们不(应)该这样做。
(3)口语里“应该”有时说成“该”。例如:
Sometimes 该 is used instead of 应该 in spoken Chinese. For example:

5.“该”表示根据情理或经验推测,到该做某事的时候了;句尾常用语气助词“了”。例如:
“该” expresses a prediction by reason or experience. When you want to express “it’s time to do something”, the modal particle T is often used at the end of the sentence:
该上课了,你还不快去(教室)!
明天星期天,该好好休息一下了。
下了几天雨了,该放晴了。

6.“必须”
(1)表示事理上的需要。例如:
It expresses a reasonable requirement. For example:
政府官员必须廉洁奉公。
留学生必须带护照和学生证。
朋友之间必须以诚相待。
(2) 加强命令语气。例如:
It intensifies the imperative mood. For example:
后天的开幕式你必须出席。
毕业班的学生必须完成毕业论文。

7.“得(dei)”口语里常用。
我们必须尊重别人。
It is commonly used in spoken Chinese.
(1)表示做某件事的意志。例如:

我得谢谢你。

(2) 表示事实上的需要。例如:

8.“要”
(1) 表示做某件事的愿望。例如:

否定形式是“不想”。例如:

(2) 表示事实上的需要。例如:
It expresses an actual need. For example:

否定形式是“不用”,表示事实上没有必要。例如:

(3)“不要”常用在动词前边做状语,表示禁止、劝阻,口语里常用“别”。例如:

9.“想”有“打算”、“希望”的意思。例如:

(二)用正反式提问时,只能并列助动词的肯定和否定形式。例如:
The affirmative-negative question can only be formed by putting together the affirmative and negative forms of the auxiliary verb. For example:
你愿意不愿意去?
他们能不能作诗?
你会不会下棋?
(三)助动词不能直接用在名词前边。只有兼属动词的才能带名词宾语。例如:

她想妈妈。
他要红毛衣。
这里的“会、要、想”都是动词,不是助动词。
